Why CBT Therapy Online Works
At Michael Patrick Inside Frame, I offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in a format that fits modern life—online. What’s more important is this: research shows online CBT is just as effective as traditional, in-person therapy for a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, loss of direction, depression, PTSD, phobias, stress, and more. I work beyond the BACP’s standards.
What the Research Tells Us
Online CBT has been studied extensively. Multiple clinical trials and long-term studies have confirmed that the outcomes people get from online sessions are comparable to what they’d receive face-to-face. The improvements don’t just show up—they tend to last for most people. From mood disorders to anxiety, from trauma to compulsive behaviours, online CBT continues to deliver consistent, positive results.
Why It’s So Effective
First, accessibility plays a big role. Being able to attend therapy online from home or any private space makes it easier to stay consistent. There’s no travel involved, no parking stress, no awkward waiting rooms. That convenience alone helps many people stick with therapy longer, which often leads to better outcomes. Because therapy takes work and application.
Online CBT also tends to feel more comfortable for many clients. Some people feel more at ease opening up from their own environment. Others appreciate the added privacy or the fact that they can begin therapy without having to explain it to others around them. Therapy can feel like a big step. I am here to help support you on this journey.
I try my best to provide a service which I feel the larger online platforms don’t. They are often run around profit margins and signing people up for subscriptions that add numerous worthless add ons.

Over the past 7 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients exclusively through online therapy. While many people were initially uncertain about how effective remote sessions could be, I’ve seen firsthand just how powerful and personal online therapy can truly be. CBT Therapy Online has been incredibly effective in helping people.
Working online has allowed me to support individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and locations—people who may not have had easy access to therapy otherwise. Some live in rural areas. Others are juggling demanding jobs, family responsibilities, or simply feel more comfortable opening up from the privacy of their own space. Whatever the reason, the flexibility and accessibility of online therapy has helped many of my clients start and stay consistent with treatment.
From a clinical perspective, the outcomes I’ve seen online have been just as strong as in-person therapy. CBT in particular lends itself well to structured sessions, homework-based strategies, and progress tracking—all of which work beautifully in a virtual format.
One of the things I’ve come to appreciate most about working online is the sense of comfort and control it gives my clients. Working as a CBT Therapist Online has been incredibly rewarding. My clients can attend sessions from their home, during a lunch break, or even while traveling. That ease often helps reduce some of the barriers that keep people from starting therapy in the first place.
Therapy is about showing up for yourself—and online therapy makes that more possible than ever.
That’s why I offer a reduced price of £29 for the first 50 minute session.
